SQL Server 2025 Now Available on Every ASP.NET Hosting Plan
SQL Server 2025 is now available on every Adaptive Web Hosting plan — right alongside SQL Server 2022. You choose the version each time you create a database in Plesk, so you can start new projects on SQL Server 2025 while your existing SQL Server 2022 databases keep running exactly as they are. Same plans, same price, same database allowance.

In Plesk, go to Databases → Add Database and choose MSSQLSERVER2025 as the database server. Connect to it at sql2025-001.adaptivewebhosting.com. Your plan's SQL Server database count (2, 5 or 10) covers both versions, and SQL Server 2022 stays fully supported.
What's new in SQL Server 2025 that you can use today
We tested each of these on our SQL Server 2025 servers before writing this post:
Native json data type — store JSON in a real JSON column instead of nvarchar(max), plus the new JSON_OBJECTAGG and JSON_ARRAYAGG aggregates.
vector data type and VECTOR_DISTANCE — keep AI embeddings next to your relational data and run similarity search in plain T-SQL. EF Core 10 maps to the new json and vector types.
Regular expressions — REGEXP_LIKE, REGEXP_REPLACE, REGEXP_SUBSTR, REGEXP_COUNT, REGEXP_INSTR and REGEXP_SPLIT_TO_TABLE.
Quality-of-life T-SQL — the || string concatenation operator, CURRENT_DATE, UNISTR, BASE64_ENCODE / BASE64_DECODE, and the PRODUCT() aggregate.
